Society of Patrons of Die Photographische Sammlung/SK Stiftung Kultur, Cologne e.V.
The Society of Patrons of actively supports and accompanies Die Photographische Sammlung’s multi-faceted programme. Among their activities are regular contributions to the exhibitions, in particular the support of public guided tours, as well as talks, conferences and workshops. In this way the members contribute towards the presentation and appreciation of photography as an artistic medium.
As a member, you play a part through your financial and non-material involvement in the preservation of important photographic works. You support the acquisition of works on permanent loan so that they become part of the collection of Die Photographische Sammlung/SK Stiftung Kultur. In addition you can participate in individual projects:

A Concert for August Sander
CD with pieces of music by Paul Hindemith, Willi Ostermann, Paul Scheinpflug, Richard Strauss, Ernst Toch, Hermann Unger
David Johnson (Violin) & Thomas Palm (Piano)
The CD is based on a concert which took place in 2014 within the framework of the exhibition "August Sander – Masterpieces and Discoveries", in Mediapark, Cologne.
The performance and the production of the CD were generously supported by Ulla Bartenbach and Prof. Dr. Kurt Bartenbach as well as the Society of Patrons of Die Photographische Sammlung/SK Stiftung Kultur, Cologne e.V.
2017
With the kind support of the Society of Patrons of Die Photographische Sammlung/SK Stiftung Kultur, Cologne e.V. and their members, the 10-part work by Hans Eijkelboom „Ode to August Sander“ was purchased for the collection.

„Ode to August Sander“ was shown in the restrospective exhibition „Hans Eijkelboom – Photographic Concepts, from the Seventies until today“ presented 2016/2017 in Die Photographische Sammlung/SK Stiftung Kultur in Cologne.

Under the heading “Side glances” the intention is to present the work of young artists and photographic positions with an aim to include them in exhibition projects. These projects take place with the support of the Society of Patrons.
Nico Joana Weber: Selva Negra

The Typological View—Exhibition for Hilla Becher
Special support by individual members of the Society of Patrons for the exhibition in memory of Hilla and Bernd Becher. August-Sander-Park
Through the efforts and support of the Society of Patrons the park area behind the SK Stiftung Kultur building and Mediapark has been re-named “August-Sander-Park”.
